It's been a cold and windy day out on the grit today. The conditions have been great despite the heavy rain of the previous day. Many people were out and about at Stanage Edge, and the sheltered venue of Lawrencefield was mobbed. 'Excalibur' (VS), 'Scoop Connection' (E3), 'Great Peter' (E1), and the ginger bread slab routes all saw traffic.
Luke, Chris, Nathaneal (Nottingham University Explorers Club) and myself visited both Stanage Edge and Lawrencefield looking at specific group skills for organised climbing sessions.
The forecast for Sunday suggests similar conditions, with strong winds and overnight rain. The more sheltered venues of Rivelin, Wharncliffe, Lawrencefield and Birchen Edge might give some respite from the wind..
