The Association of Mountaineering Instructors (AMI) is the representative body of professionally qualified mountaineering instructors in the UK. Remember to look for the AMI logo as assurance of high quality instruction.

AMI members are highly experienced mountaineers who have undergone rigorous training and assessment to qualify under the Mountain Leader Training UK (MLTUK) Mountain Instructor scheme.

All full members of the Association are holders of the Mountain Instructors Award (MIA) or the higher award, the Mountain Instructors Certificate (MIC). More information on the MIA and MIC awards available on the AMI website (see link below).
