Welcome to James Thacker Mountaineering. Based in the Peak District we offer all aspects of rock climbing, mountaineering instruction and guiding throughout the UK; summer or winter.

With professional Mountaineering Instructor James Thacker and other top instructors, we can make the most of your available time due to our excellent local knowledge and proven experience. James Thacker Mountaineering can help you develop your skills, your experience of climbing in safety or take you to some wild and special places.

We offer instruction, guiding, and coaching at all levels from beginner to experienced climber. Covering all mountaineering skills such as learning to lead, improvised rescue, navigation, scrambling and hill walking. During the winter months we offer the challenge of Scottish snow, ice and mixed climbing as well as defensive winter skills.
